Optical drive variation in catalog

The optical drive stopped working or tries to work on its own from time to time. If I insert a disc it is very hard to retrieve the disc and the drive will not read it any way. The drive also works the eject mechanism from time to time with no disc or action on my part prompting the action. So replacement is needed, ergo my question....

Your inventory lists two different optical super drives for me to choose from one @ $199 and the other @ $149. The higher priced one is listed specifically for the A1226/A1260, where the other states commonality to all 15" MBP's of this time frame. I just wanted to know the difference between the drives beyond the price and will the cheaper one work for me or not?

Optionally, I am open to swapping out for an SSD in place of the opti... if anyone knows of a kit like OWC's for my MBP Also planning to swap primary drive out for your 750GB 7200 rpm around the same time. Thanks again
