27in 2014 iMac will not power on
Hi all, I appreciate any help or guidance, as I am new to the world of Mac repair. Recently, I purchased a lot of Macs from a local yard sale. I got rid of all (a macbook and two iMacs 10/11) but one, being this late 2014 iMac with what seems to be a Intel 4GHz i7. The previous owner told me that he thought there was an issue with the display, so he ordered a new display (which he provided to me), but told me he never had the opportunity to repair it.
After removing the screen and plugging it in, only LED #1 came on. After pressing the power button, nothing happened. I read some other postings and found a step by step deep dive that led me to the conclusion that I should test the power button, and if that works then replace the power supply. After doing both, the computer still doesn’t turn on.
Is my next and/or only option just replacing the logic board? Is there anything else that I can test? Any guidance would be amazing as I’d love to use the computer for school work. Thanks!
Is this a good question?
