Vizio tv stuck on Smartcast screen, enter pin code
My vizio tv is stuck on smartcast and not responding to remote

Hold the input button and the volume up button on the back of your tv. And boom input selections

Same issue. Powercycling by unplugging then holding down the power button on ther tv for 30 sec then pluigging back in doesn't work. It goes back to the same screen

Not when it is frozen on the input pin screen. The only button that does anything is power. The TV is basically bricked.
Worse TV I ever dealt with in my life. Spent two hours factory resetting the tv over and over and letting it redownload/install and update over and over while trying to get the stupid app to pair with the TV since the remote that comes with the TV is useless and doesn't control ANYTHING.
Visio support’s only answer was to “take it to a local repair shop”
Same just happened to my P65-F1. Nothing works. Tech support is useless. On Saturday I will have Geek Squad here
What did the repair shop do to fix it? Repair some board inside?
@john jones my vizio only had one button on the tv itself.. I'm just at a loss here as to what to do

Unplug the television, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in

I unplugged it twice ( for more than 10 minutes each time) and it did not change the screen from Smartcast nor allow the remote to change the screen.
How do I find the pin number on my VISIO E400-B2
Thanks this worked! Unplugging TV and holding power button for 30+ seconds was a waste of time.

Hold input on remote for a few seconds, i let mine go to airplay and after that switched to the input channel i needed and it worked fine. I’m not sure if it was holding the remote input or switching to airplay that did it but it was one of them.

This happened to my 85 y/o Dad’s Vizio - tried unplugging, rebooting, every troubleshooting tip on line. Input always went back to Smartcast - couldn’t choose any other input! As a last resort - when did you last change batteries in remote - 6 months he says - let’s change them and just see. That worked!!! Able to now select input ‘cable box’ & watch his shows. Thankful as this was stressful over the phone from 600 miles away!

hey everyone Im having the same issue with my tv . but i think it's odd that we all had the same issue in the same month. I joined Verizon at home to get my tv fixed but they kept denying my issue! since vizio only has one yr warranty something seems off. if anyone has a solution can you guys email me
