Green light on, no picture or sound. Bravia KDL-32V2000

The TV turns on, green led comes on. No picture or sound. Backlight flashing every 20 secs or so, followed by a clicking sound from the relay on the power board. When I turn off and back on, and then change the source with the remote, eg from tuner to HDMI, I get picture for a brief 1 or 2 seconds and then it goes blank again. During the 2 secs with picture, I can also hear a very low buzzing sound.

Troubleshooting steps I tried:

  1. Inspected all boards for faulty caps.
  2. The power board looked like it had a faulty cap, so ordered a new board and replaced. The situation did not change at all, backlight still flashing followed by the relay click. This ruled out any faults with the power board.
  3. Next, I inspected the inverter board. However, taking into consideration there is no picture and sound, I ruled out the inverter board as well.
  4. As far as I can tell, I am left with a fault on either the tcon board or the main board. I would appreciate it if anyone could guide me find out which one. I have a multimeter so I can take readings on the pins.

Thanks for taking the time to read this post!

Edit: I have attached the photos of the power board, inverter board and the whole rear view.

@ozanballer you did not tell us if you get any error codes flashing from the power LED when you turn your TV on. From what you are describing I would take a look at the voltages from the power board to the main board as well as the power going to the backlight strips. Let us know what you are getting on those. The Sony SM is a bit spotty (typical) so we are relying on your measurements etc. My main suspect at this time is a faulty mainboard since you have neither sound nor video. Post some good pictures of your boards and wiring layout with your QUESTION. That way we can see what you see. Adding images to an existing question

Dear @oldturkey03 thank you for taking the time to review my question and upload the service manual.

The power LED error code is a mystery to me, as according to my son when he first saw the flashing LED he unplugged the power cord from the outlet and called me to take a look. When we switched it back on, there was no flashing on the power LED and it has not flashed since then.

I have uploaded photos of the boards to the question, please let me know if you need more.

The readings I have taken are as follows:

Pins 1 - 2 on CN6202 on the power board (G1) labeled as UNREG15V are connected to the main board (AG). They both read 13.9V when idle and fluctuate between 14.2V and 12.8V during the backlight flashing and the relay clicking.

Pins 9-12 on CN6203 on G1 labeled as REG18V are connected to the backlight strips. All four read 18.4V without any fluctuation.

New discovery: when the TV is in standby mode with the red power LED on, the backlight flashing is gone but it still keeps clicking every 20-30 seconds.

Hi @oldturkey03

Any idea what I should check next?

The clicking relay is on the power board? This sounds more and more like a bad power board.
