How to I get My lcd to turn back on after repair

I had a broken home button on my iphone 4. i replaced it by following the walk through on here. everything went well except now the LCD will not turn on. i can see without the back on the iPhone, that the screen lights up, but there's no picture. the touchscreen works because i can answer phone calls if i get them and talk. Does anyone know what could have happened? And how I might fix this?

This happens a lot to us when we test the displays internally. Usually you just need to power cycle the phone or do a reset. You can also simply disconnect and then reconnect the battery. That should fix it. I have no idea what causes the problem in the first place.
