How can I solve a battery acting crazy in my MacBook?

Block Image

After being hit by the T-Con issue with my display, I have just seen a new message related to my battery health. I am getting the message “Check your battery”…

My battery has just 128 cycles, so it makes not sense in having this problem. As my battery is still young, could it be related to software? I am using mojave. I have tried to reset my SMC, but I can never tell if it was done successfully in my macbook…

I am very upset with this computer…

Thanks in advance!

You’ll need to visit an Apple Store to get your battery replaced under warranty.

Do I have the right to have this done under warranty? My MBP is not under apple care or other nonsense like this. I am feeling so upset with Apple products =(

After we talked a couple of months ago I decided to have my display exchanged. I will have my MBP sent to an authorized vendor next week and pay the fortune to exchange the display. Now I hope I can get this battery exchanged for free, as its ridiculous to pay another fortune for another thing that is just not my fault

I still would fire off an email to big Tim.

@danj yes, but I still, if possible, I would like to have this clear: In my case, can I get the battery fixed for free? Is this compulsory? Thanks so much, buddy =)

There was a recall for the battery for the 2016 model 13-inch MacBook Pro battery replacement program FAQ: What it is and how to use it

Even still the battery should last longer than 128 cycles! This will require a bit of effort to get it covered as a warranty exception. You'll do better at an Apple Store than an Apple authorized service center.
