WiFi Hardware not installed

Hi All,

I started getting this error. I have replaced the stock WiFi card as well as both the WiFi board and the cable, but still get the error “WiFi Hardware not installed”.

Does anyone know if I can do anything else?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

To be clear you replaced all three parts with the exact same parts (no substitutions) AirPort, carrier board and AirPort data cable to the logic board.

Yes, that is correct. All three parts were replaced. When I tried one of the combo cards, bluetooth works but wifi doesnt.

Just for the sake of testing mate, I would one by one start adding the old parts back into the board until the error was cleared, use the process of elimination to try and work out what part is causing the issue.

If you find the problem is with the new WiFi card that you purchased I would then place the WiFi card into a different system to make sure that card worked properly, for all you know they might have just sold you a faulty part.

This sounds like a logic board power line issue to the AirPort header. Did you damage one of the pins?

Do you have access to the schematics and board views so you can trace out the lines? Thats assuming you have the skills to get that deep into fixing the micro-electronics of the logic board.

The other option is trying out another logic board.
