How can I change the ram to 8 gb

Hi,

Here’s the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop.

Go to p.40 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove / replace the ram modules.

According to the specifications for the laptop, it supports up to 8GB of DDR3L-1600 SODIMM ram (PC3-12800) with a max of 4GB per socket i.e. it has 2 sockets.

Here’s a supplier of the memory. It is only shown to give you an idea of the cost and type of the RAM. There are other suppliers online that may suit you better.

It may be also worth considering replacing the HDD with a SSD to really get a performance improvement in the laptop along with the increased RAM. See p.37 for how to replace the HDD. The parts supplier listed also shows compatible SSD for the laptop. Usually there are instructions with the SSD on how to transfer the data from the HDD to the SSD so that it can be installed seamlessly.
