Nikon D40 learners camera

Hi. I’m wondering if an older Nikon D40 would be a suitable camera to learn and practice with. It’s a little older, which generally seems to have disagreed end with most options recommended one around 2 years old.

Upside for me is I can use this for free which greatly helps. Also a 55 to 200mm lens and a 35 to 55 mm lens to use. Appvn

So would this be an ok option to learn photography?

It would be optimal. An older camera will help you learn the basics of photography (focus, zoom etc) without having to worry about photoshoping, starting out.

When you get yourself to a good lvl of just capturing stuff, then you can gradually move on to the more advanced aspects of it. That’s when you should consider buying new gear and that’s how most people start out :)
