Buttons dont work in gameplay

The buttons on the neck of my guitar work fine all throughout the guitar hero menu, and during a song the buttons on the screen light up when I press the buttons on the guitar, BUT nothing happens in game. There is no guitar sound and says I’m missing all of them even though it shows on screen that I’m pressing them. How on earth does that happen and how do I fix it??

Options

go into the game options and try calibrating the audio and video....sounds like someone has adjusted them to an extreme one direction or the other
