My iPhone has been charging and it won't switch on. Help?

So basically my Iphone 6s has been on charge for hours and it won’t switch on. My phone hasn’t struggled with battery problems before and I checked if it was the wire so i charged another phone so it’s not the wire. Also it says it is charging as the wire thing when it says it needs to be charged disappears when it’s plugged in but it won’t charge. Please help I have checked if there was gunk in the charging port and there’s nothing, so what is wrong with it?

If you used a cheap charger, you could’ve damaged TriStar, the USB validating chip in the phone. It can get damaged when a poor quality charger is used as they lack proper surge protection. If it gets damaged and the phone dies, it will says it’s charging when it’s really not. TriStar’s job is to make sure that whatever you plug into the device is safe to use, and that’s how you get the “Apple cannot determine if this is a genuine accessory” message. There is a TriStar tester out there but it’s about $125 USD. If you can charge the battery externally, or by swapping it to another working 6s and charge it that way. A charge port runs about $6 USD but TriStar is part of the main logic board and it is repairable with microsoldering. Your best bet would be to call up reputable repair shops in your area and ask if they can test TriStar for you.
