Blacklight defect after waterdamage

Dear users,

My English isn't that good so i'm going to do my best:).

Yesterday I was walking towards home in the rain. When i got home my Iphone 3G was totally wet. When I turned it on, my backlight wasn't working at all. I have to look very closely to see something. I've been looking around on youtube how to fix it but its very vague. I also replaced a new LCD but that didn't work

My Iphone is now in a bowl with rice.

Can someone show me how to fix it?

Benedict, start with this Guide first and since you already replaced the LCD, I believe that somewhere there is a backlight coil that may need to be replaced. I know there was a discussion about it on here you might want to check it out. The only other thing that I have about the 3G is that somewhere in my "notebook" I have an image that says to check the coil pointed out. hope this helps to get you started. Good Luck

I do not know how I did it but it is fixed. I opened my Iphone and looked at the white indicators if the coloured. But they were still white. So i put it back together and connected it. Still no backlight. I went to the the toilet and when i came back, my backlight was working again. Could not believe my eyes lol.

Anyway, thanks for the info!

Well, great job, whatever it was, at least it's fixed. Good Luck to you and your phone...:-)
