Blacklight defect after waterdamage

Dear users,

My English isn't that good so i'm going to do my best:).

Yesterday I was walking towards home in the rain. When i got home my Iphone 3G was totally wet. When I turned it on, my backlight wasn't working at all. I have to look very closely to see something. I've been looking around on youtube how to fix it but its very vague. I also replaced a new LCD but that didn't work

My Iphone is now in a bowl with rice.

Can someone show me how to fix it?

Benedict, start with this Guide first and since you already replaced the LCD, I believe that somewhere there is a backlight coil that may need to be replaced. I know there was a discussion about it on here http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/archive/... you might want to check it out. The only other thing that I have about the 3G is that somewhere in my "notebook" I have an image that says to check the coil pointed out. hope this helps to get you started. Good Luck

I do not know how I did it but it is fixed. I opened my Iphone and looked at the white indicators if the coloured. But they were still white. So i put it back together and connected it. Still no backlight. I went to the the toilet and when i came back, my backlight was working again. Could not believe my eyes lol.

Anyway, thanks for the info!
