MacBook Air battery not installed (PPT001) -> water damage & cleaning

Hello,

I have a MacBook Air 13’’, Mid 2013.

In December a bottle spilled near it and got the Mac wet (for prob 1-2 hours).

To “fix this” I took it apart, used 93% alcohol and cleaned it thoroughly 2 times.

Reassembled it, tried to turn it on after a couple days with or without battery but no success.

Today I decided to try to turn on the laptop once again. Plugged it in the charger and nothing. I left it there and in 4 hours it turned on by itself.

It has been perfectly running (display, keyboard, sound, wifi, ssd, ram etc) for the last 10 hours. Turning it off and on again multiple times.

Except for the battery. Mac diagnostics give out PPT001 error message. In system settings under Hardware/Power it also says that battery is not found.

I tried SMC, PRAM etc resetting multiple times, to no effect.

Any ideas what’s the problem and how it can be fixed

Answer this question I have this problem too

I tried resetting it multiple times already, unfortunately

Then you probably need to change the whole logic board

... or have the logic board fixed, perhaps exchange the battery.
