DFU usb not responding

Hi,

I have an iphone 8 which suddenly started to boot loop (non jail-broken), i have tried plugging into my laptop and it acts like it isn’t connected in anyway (dfu mode). The problem isn’t itunes as itunes works with my iphone 11.

Any help would be appreciated

Does the phone sta on when wallcharger isn't plugged in?

by

@Leslie Leslie yes it does, I left it charging in dfu mode as it was looping and killing the battery fast but now it is charged and overnight

disconnect the screen, front cam and back camera, just only connected to logic bord is the battery and the dockconnector then connect to itunes and do a restore. If the phone boots up then you can connect the parts one by one and determine wich part is causing the boot loop.

Hi, thank you for that is their anything else you would recommend before opening up the phone, I am a computer scientist not really that comfortable opening up the phone (will if it’s the only option) Cheers

Was the storage full by any chance and then some apps that tried to be opened crashed and after that a boot loop occurred?

Hi, don’t think it was, if it was have you got any clue how you would fix it/make it show up on itunes

It's a bit tricky to get it to show up to iTunes you'll need to get it to boot into recovery mode.

Hold vol + and vol - and the side power button until the phone goes off. Make sure you are doing this while the phone is plugged into a computer.

Once it goes off continue holding the side button but release the volume buttons. Wait until it prompts the iTunes restore screen with the support.apple.com/iphone/restore text.

When it's on that screen it means the phone is in recovery mode. Try updating it first. If it gives error -14, -27, -20-30 the phone must be restored which means it'll wipe all data and that is the only way around unbricking it.
