LCD cover hard to reinstall (not much slack in the camera cable)

What is the safest way to re-attach the LCD cover? Seems like the camera cable doesn’t have enough slack and pulls when i’m trying to flush the cover down.

I tried bending the flex cable into 90 degrees before and the camera and earpiece ended up not working - although I pulled this one from a used phone so it might have already been broken.

The cable is a little short for the 6s plus, have you tried with the screen being more closer to the housing? It will be a bit harder to screw the metal cover on that that should help.
