Unpopped kernals door too light

This popper is not keeping uncooked kernals in the popper at least as much as it should. I have tried several different brands and now the repacked kits for the rental store. I cook twice 8 oz from the stove top and half that in the kettle. The door dont seem heavy enough to stop the kernal from kicking it open. I'm looking for any solution that can help.

Idk I updated model and the pictures are added just not showing up for some reason.
