Why is the backlight not working?

Hi,

The backlight of my MacBook Air does not work. The LCD works but the backlight does not turn on. It can be used with external display by using thunderbolt cable.

Model: Macbook air, 13 inches model A1369, mid 2011.

I have checked the backlight fuse with letter “P” and I guess the fuse seems to be okay.

Is the problem with the logic board, is there any solution?

I searched the web, found that some says backlight driver IC(LP8550) is broken??? Anybody knows where the driver IC is located?

Any help would be highly appreciated

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

How did you check the fuse? You need a DVM to measure the voltage from both sizes with the black probe is on the case.

If the fuse voltage is zero on both sides then the buck inverter chip will need to be replaced. This requires deeper skills and access to the part to fix your logic board. You still need to figure out why it blew!
