iPhone 8 bootloop when plugged in

I replaced a broken screen on an iPhone 8, after doing so it was stuck on a bootloop.

Nothing was changed except of the screen but I did remove some gunk from the charging port. When unplugged it showed a low battery symbol but when plugged in it was on an infinite bootloop.

I replaced the dock connector but with the same result: low battery symbol with lightning connector, when plugged in it briefly shows just the low battery symbol and after a while it goes on bootloop.

I think it just doesn’t have enough power to boot and maybe the battery is broken (seems strange though because before the screen was broken it worked fine).

someone told me it might be a motherboard problem because it doesn’t show up on iTunes either?

Thanks!

If it’s in a bootloop get it in recovery mode and try updating on 3UTools / iTunes.

Once I get home I'll post instructions on how to put it in recovery mode it's pretty tricky on the iPhone 8.

Holding the side button while plugged in should be enough to kick it in recovery mode.

Try disconnecting the earpiece (earspeaker) cable and try again.
