Replacement digitizer is receding out of frame

If you look at the corners, you’ll notice the digitizer is sort of floating on top of the frame of the device, the old digitizer was doing the same thing. I can’t tell if the iPad was dropped face first and the metal frame was bent or if it’s something else, but it’s a problem when it comes to dust collection and display adhesion.

The frame is bent and it's obvious. You need to take the screen off and straighten out the corners but it will most likely snap off a bit of the frame. Make sure that it will lay flat. Then you need to clean all of the adhesive off of the screen and frame so it has something to adhere to. You can get new precut adhesive for your iPad, you should be able to get it from ifixit but if it's no available from them let me know and I can give you a couple of sources for it. Once you get screen glued back on you should lay a heavy book on it for 24 hours and also heat the side of the screen up with a hairdryer to soften the adhesive and let it cool down with pressure on it and it won't lift off again.

Okay, I figured out what it was, and I feel pretty dumb for my incredibly late realization. I was just missing the white plastic bezel that goes around the frame of the iPad.
