Third party charger burned the charger port

So my computer works fine and still charges fine. I bought a fake MagSafe 2 charger off amazon and thought it was okay. It stoped charging, and I took a look and found that one of the “female” receptors- or beads or whatever of the five metal inputs is- Is burnt looking. From research online it looks like the charging port is separate from the rest of my computer so it should be fine if I get it fixed? It works fine now and charges with a VERIFIED apple charger, should I be worried about frying my computer if I continue to charge it for the time being?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

As far as using your system in this state the connector is setup to supply power of two pins for each side

So while its mate pin can power your system the resistance can create heat which could effect your systems running if you are running anything heavy. Best to cool it with the video or music composing or game play which tend to run the CPU hard.

Sometimes this problem can occur when charging without a dedicated charger.

So I recommend you to use its own charger instead of this...

@george441 - Not sure I follow you here. Apple's chargers have been copied so you can have two on your desk, one real the other fake!

You can't tell which is which! Don't Replace Your MacBook Charger With a Cheap Knockoff and this is the most visible clue! Lacking safety features, cheap MacBook chargers create big sparks

This arcing tends to foul the connector contacts with a buildup of burnt crud which is what has happened here with Hess's Mac.

There is even more risks! Many also damage the charging logic within your system as well. It doesn't pay getting these cheaper chargers.
