My phone is not switching on nor it's getting rebooted

I tried switching on my phone but its only showing battery symbol and getting switched off automatically i tried rebooting phone even this is also showing same symbol android icon along with battery symbol and getting switched off automatically. I tried charging my phone for 8-9 hr it isn't working in this lockdown situation its too difficult to stay without phone.

I switched off my redmi play phone at night so that i could sleep when the battery was at 24%, in the morning i tried to power it on but it failed, i looked around for the xiaomi phone technicians but i failed to get one. was then told my phone may no longer work, it's so stressing to live minus a functioning smart phone amid this lock down.
