I had tried a usb 3.0 drive with OSU1 files. No go. The I put the OSU1 files on a usb 2.0 drive and it worked. I was swapping in a new Terabyte ssd drive into an xbox one X. This was the fix for me.

When replacing the HDD did you use the .bat file to create a xbox one partitioned hard drive?

Yes, I tried it 4 different times following instructions from different sources each time. When I look at the files when it's plugged into my pc, everything looks like it is supposed to with the proper partitions and all. Also, when I try to do an offline update (some sources say that might be the issue), the Xbox One won't let me select the usb icon that says offline update. I have tried many times with OSU1. I have also tried OSU2 and OSU3.

The general instructions should be as following:

After script is done, System Update 1 partition should have updater.xvd in root directory, then two folders called A and B. A and B should contain the system update files + the bootanim.dat file.

After that the instructions differ specifically on the Xbox One Original compared to the One S or X as seen here:

https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/hardw...

The flash drive containing the system update must be formatted as NTFS and contain the $SystemUpdate folder that has all the files in it.

If that still does not work then I think there is a serious hardware problem with the console.

I had the same issue with one of my xbox one s's. I read that it was because that xbox was involved with the xbox insider hub program. I deleted and unsubscribed to the insider program with a windows PC and was waiting for the new update that just came out on april 28th 2020. I have yet to try all of this again due to the fact that I need a new HD. I'm going out to pick up a new drive sometime this week. Anyone have any pros and cons to a SSD? Also I would like to see if anyone fixed the issue first befor I spend any more money on this thing. I already had the IC retimer chip replaced thinking that was the issue dure to the blank screen. Nope! I have a xbox loading screen again as well as the trouble shooting screen but like I said with the previous OS the box wouldnt take the flash drive. It would load up to 6% and throw out an E106 or E102. Any help would be fantastic. Oh I forgot to mention that I tried an old boot file as well as a new one. Also tried OSU1, 2 & 3.

SSDs from what I heard don't yield much performance improvements for loading. I have not seen a solution yet for damaged HDDs on Xbox Ones with Insider Builds installed as there are no insider build OSU1 files out there.

It is sad that any xbox one enrolled in insider will instantly become a paperweight if the system software or hdd becomes damage.

adding an ssd to my xbox one s made a gigantic difference in loading textures in games. Went from having invisible people to feeling like an xbox series s. it did make a large difference for me.
