Dropped my original iPhone SE. Display not responding to touch.

Block Image

About an inch of the screen not responding to touch.

Rest of the screen is fine and there no visible damages to the phone.

Please tell me it's just a cable connector come off loose and I can open and press on these clips to fix it.

Answer this question I have this problem too

That might be the case, otherwise you may need to do a full screen replacement. The screen replacement guide on Ifixit.com will show which cables should be connected and if neither of those suggestions work, it’s a motherboard issue, and not cost effective to repair, in my opinion.

Thanks. Just tried to remove all three cables and connect it back again. Still the same issue. What I don't understand is, everything was working fine before the drop. It should be a mechanical dislodge of some sorts isn't? Can't wrap my head around how a two foot drop might kill a motherboard circuitry.

@ncifixnc That was a last resort thought, as far as the mother board, I think the screen replacement will do you just fine, I apologize, I was giving all scenarios.

You will have to replace the screen, it has damaged it and there is nothing you can do except change the screen. It can have a hair line crack or damaged it somehow. It had nothing to do with the motherboard. Put a new screen on it and you will be fine. A new screen is less than 30 dollars.

I agree with you as well, I just was giving all scenarios, sorry about the confusion :)

I understand, I haven't heard of issues with touch on the se from a drop. But if only a small part of the screen won't respond to touch then it's definitely a screen.
