Flashing between prohibition sign and Apple symbol on boot.

Hi everyone,

I was recently using my MacBook Pro when it suddenly froze, did a quick restart (Holding the Power key). When I was greeted with the prohibitory sign. After doing a bit of research and doing all sorts of things pram reset, verifying disk in recovery mode etc. I decided to restore the disk as I had just done a time machine back up. After restoring I usually get as far as installing 10.15, when at some point during the initial setup i.e setting up new user, or the second time I did it when I booted into the desktop for the first time, the computer freezes again and then after restarting I have the prohibitory symbol again but it flashes between the Apple symbol.

I’m a bit stumped on what to do, so any advice would be much appreciated.

likely ssd failure. But you can try to open it and carefully reseating it. Perhaps too much dust also heats up the chips and causes it to fail.
