Mac sees the 20" Cinema Display but display is black

The Cinema Display’s Indicator light is also black. The mouse of my MacBook Air 2017 disappears to where the monitor should be so the computer is seeing it, but the display otherwise appears dead. Is it time to give up on my old friend or is there a repair?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I think its wise to get a new monitor as you can get a larger screen with better image quality for around $200 used.

This display uses CCFL’s and uses the older dual-link DVI connector system which besides being clunky won’t support 4K or 5K if you really want to push things.

I’ve ordered a replacement monitor but I am still interested in trying to fix the Cinema Display. I’ve found similar issues in similar threads that indicate the fix may not be too expensive but I’ve not found enough detail to attempt a repair or order a part.

I did a bit of looking for the likely needed parts. I'm sorry to say I just couldn't find any. The only thing I can suggest is searching the used displays to see if you can find one for parts.
