RAM-slot does not work

one day my laptop froze and didn’t turn back on, I took it to a repair shop and he had told me that the ram stick had gotten fried so I bought the new ram for it. When I tried it gave me a blue screen. long story short I looked it up and I found out that it was the ram slot. But I did see some DIY solutions to it when adding something to wedge in the ram slot putting pressure on it works, and it did until it moved out of place. I don’t want to pay for it to get repaired or buy a new motherboard. What can I add to either hold it down (tape) or put pressure on the ram stick (gasket)

Answer this question I have this problem too

Are the clips not catching the edge of the RAM on both sides, as shown in photo?

Motherboards are very delicate, so it may not be a good idea to use tape/gaskets on one. The Dell XPS 15 9550 laptop has two RAM slots and each can support 16GB RAM sticks. Have you tried putting a 16GB RAM stick in the one working memory slot? That would satisfy the RAM requirements without risking further damage to the motherboard.
