Confirmation of Display not working.

It relates to any models of all brands of mobile phones. What are the ways to confirm display not working(except by replacing a good one) by checking with the multimeter?

@kumaran123 … if you dont have the ability to test with a known good, only other option is to have the schematic and test using your multimeter. other than that experience will sometimes help rule out other possibilities, but nothing concrete like replacing suspected part with known good or having schematic to check values with multimeter.

try typing your model number along with schematic or wiring diagram on google and see what you find. this will tell you what voltages should be present on any part of any device that you can check against your multimeter to find any fault.

Hi @kumaran123 ,

You could also always use a torch, held and an angle close to the LCD screen, to check if you can see an image at all when the phone is on.

If so this will narrow it down a bit to a backlight problem but then you need to have the schematics so that you can check whether it is in the systemboard or in the display.

If it's in the display it will have to be replaced anyway as it can't be fixed, if it's the systemboard you have a chance.
