iPhone 8 darker Display after replacement

Hey Guys,

i just repair my Iphone 8 Frontdisplay and replaced it with a display from IFixit.

Unfortunately, the new display has less brightness and the color seems to be darker and less saturated. Is this a common Issue with a new Display and can I anything do?

You have no True Tone. When you replace the screen the data from the original needs to be copied and programmed onto the new screen. Take it to a reputable repair shop along with the old screen and ask if they can copy the data for you. There will be a charge for this. Some shops might refuse because you replaced the screen yourself.

Also check that auto brightness is turned on and working. To test it shine a torch at the ear speaker and the screen should go brighter. If not you may have fitted the ear speaker ribbon correctly.

I’ve heard the quality of parts from iFixit is average but not great. Check if the specifications are the same. I would recommend using FX5.

More than like it's the True-Tone. When you change the display, the True Tone needs to be reset. A pro can do it.
