Why is my wireless keyboard not working after cleaning?

Hi, I cleaned two of my Apple wireless keyboards with multipurpose cleaner spray yesterday. Now one is working as usual and another one has many keys are not working. Keys including space, caps lock, delete, all the letters in last row of the keyboard, brightness keys, 0 and -. I got the screen keyboard on while connecting to the keyboard and put my iMac on sleep then the next day found out that it shut down and now I can’t log in because I need the broken keys for my password. Not a good timing as it is lockdown I can’t go to the retail store to get a new keyboard …

Sounds like you flooded the keyboard with cleaner. See if a hair drier at low heat can speed up the drying process. Hopefully the cleaner won’t be corrosive internally. If that fails time for a new keyboard ;-{

I don’t recommend cleaning the keyboard with a spray cleaner directly. The best way is to spray the paper towel or cloth then wiping the keyboard. This is also true for displays which can get liquid damaged as well.
