Sadly your display assembly if failing. You’ll need a new display assembly

  • 13” MacBook Air Retina Display - Space Grey, Apple P/N 661-12586
  • 13” MacBook Air Retina Display - Silver, Apple P/N 661-12587
  • 13” MacBook Air Retina Display - Gold, Apple P/N 661-12588

Your systems graphics services (Intel UHD Graphics 617) runs in two modes. When it’s in Safe mode its running in the low res 1680 by 1050 and once the drivers are loaded from within the OS it will jump to 2560 by 1600.
