Touch ID lost after cleaning home button

You know this moment, where you just want to hit yourself? Or give yourself slaps?

That's where I am in the moment.

I wanted to clean my home button which was being unresponsive, I watch a video showing a guy cleaning the home button with 70 degrees alcohol. I did it, and lost touch ID. Any suggestions? I tried restoring the phone but didn't help.

So insight would be appreciated.

Thanks

70% Alcohol has got 30% water so let it dry for a day and see if touch ID comes back. If the home button itself was unresponsive to “return to home” before you cleaned it you could have a faulty home button or flex cable.
