My phone only works when charging

I have dropped my phone a few times and the screen cracked a little. The thing is that about a week ago i was using my phone and it suddenly started lagging and being really slow, but when i plugged it in it worked perfectly. It still works when not plugged but it lags and slows down a lot. Also some times it turns on and off suddenly. I have had my phone for about 6 months and i really don’t know what’s going on. I have tried from just turning my phone off to reseting the whole thing as it was brand new. I honestly don’t know what else to do. Please Help!!! Also to clarify, the battery is working fine when not plugged in.

Answer this question I have this problem too

You probably broke more than just the screen when you dropped it. Best thing to do is have the screen repaired and have them look for other issues when the screen is off the phone. Good luck.

You likely need a new battery. Go into your devices settings app, scroll and find the Battery section. Tap on it and then select Battery Health. It will then tell you what percentage it is at, and if it’s slowing it down to prevent the phone from shutting down. If it’s below 75%, it should almost certainly be replaced.

I’ve had similair symptoms with iPads in the past. Sometimes a calibration of the battery is required after some amount of time.

You could try to plug it in the charger, then hold the home button and the power button together. Hold this untill you see the apple logo when its starting up again.

Just a thought..
