What do I need to do and get to fix touch ic

I have a iphone se that I posted about earlier, ill put the link in the description. I watched a video of a person repairing a 5S and he used a heat gun and some brownish liquid substance, but there is no video for repairing the SE touch ic. I do have a soldering iron that can microsolder and I am experienced in soldering but im new to iphone motherboard repair and microsoldering. I am on a tight budget so can I just order the touch ic and fix it or do I need to get a heat gun, the substance?

also Is there a video for repairing the touch ic on my iphone SE?

Update (03/07/2020)

Brayden, if you want my honest opinion…this is not something you should follow through on if your goal is to actually repair this phone on a budget. If your goal is to learn, then go for it.

Your question shows that you really do not have the proper tools, consumables and experience in micro-soldering and that you will probably muck things up more than anything else. I don’t say this to be harsh, just to save you time and money. If you really want this phone to work and quickly, let someone else do it.

That said, I don’t think you should be investing money on a water damaged device. I don’t know any techs that actually fix water damaged devices, they can have all kinds of latent issues and are a warranty nightmare.

Now, to be fair, if you want to learn then you will need a hot air gun, paste flux, good tweezers…and tons of practice on dead boards before ever attempting to repair a valuable device on your first try.

Feel free to ask any follow-up questions!
