Hi @dasrepair ,

I also saw this one but it is not for a GL65 95D it is for a GS650.

The GL65 95d is very new. It looks like it has only been released for about 4 months, so opening it up will void the manufacturer's warranty

opening it up does not void it. There will usually be a sticker above a screw or a part that says if removed MFW will be voided. From the Manfacture site it only has a M.2 nvme slot. I upgraded a decent amount of msi laptops in my shop. The newer models usually have the slot on the opposite side of the motherboard underneath the keyboard. Which is a pain sometimes but not too bad. Regardless upgrading that storage the hard drive its self is expensive.

@akarpti

You can also see from MSI that your model does also allow for a 2.5" drive. https://www.msi.com/Laptop/GL65-9SX-GTX/...

The factory box should also include a sata connection for that 2.5" drive. If you are looking for SSD mass storage then I recommend the Samsung 860 QVO; otherwise Crucial, Samsung, WD, or Kingston's UV line SSDs are highly recommended. I would definitely do a bit a research if you are concered.

The sticker is for MSI to check for end user damage in the US. They legally can't void the warranty - it's a bad scare tactic at best.
