Where can I purchase replacement batteries for Inspiron 15 7579 2-in-1

Hi there. Do you know where I can purchase batteries for my Inspiron 15 7579 2-in-1? I found a guide, but it doesn’t show where to get batteries. I called Dell, and the only option is a $40 out of warranty repair in Houston. Thanks!

For parts that aren’t open market like RAM and hard drives but have to be genuine or high failure rate (Ex: Some of their keyboards), I use PartsPeople with Dell laptops. They’re a little expensive compared to others, but the parts are genuine and they back it with the better warranty then other vendors. Granted they charge shipping if you need to get a part warrantied, but a lot of the time the part is more then the shipping - I’d probably throw out a broken cable from them but a $50 keyboard or $120 battery is worth shipping.

The standard capacity battery can be found here and the DP/N if you want to shop around is WDX0R. If the print looks weird, the battery is probably fake. The Dell battery should have sharp print, which few copies get right.

Thanks! That is one heck of a price tag though. It might be cheaper to send it to Huston for repair. What do you think? Out-of-warranty repair is $40 in 12-15 business days while express is $50 in 5-7 business days.

@thedoggo Dell or a 3rd party? Dell would probably get you for about as much with the battery price if it isn't included. I get it - they are expensive but it's actually going to be genuine since they PO them from Dell.

The procedure to install it isn't hard, so if you don't get a battery price break you're better off doing it. You remove the cover and some screws, more or less. Get a full quote and ask about how much they want just for the battery.

@nick I might have heard the guy on the phone wrong, but he might have said $40-50. It was Dell. Weird.

@thedoggo Ask about the price and if it includes the battery or if it's flat rate.. DON'T mention parts people to test the honesty of the answer. I doubt that includes parts - too cheap.

@nick Thanks for the advice!
