You need to give more details if you expect an answer. I guess you are stuck with learning Linux.

Ubuntu is a flavor/ form of Linux. Your laptop may not have windows on it anymore. If I am reading this right you would like to use Windows on occasion or exclusively. No Windows disk came with it and you can not see the recovery partition, if it still exists, to restore Windows back on the laptop.

Go to your BIOS, setup, usually F1, F2 or delete key at start up. The proper key to enter setup/BIOS should be flashed on the screen when the Laptop boots up. When you get into the BIOS it will tell you your hard drive size.

Now boot your laptop. See what size Ubuntu is reporting the hard drive to be. If this size is significantly less than what the BIOS reported chances are there are 1 or more partitions on the hard drive. If this is the case here are instructions on how to mount and see them to determine what they are. You will need to go to Ubuntu support to acquire a boot manager and instructions on how to use it to be able to access these other partitions.

If there are no other partitions you will need to acquire the Windows installation disk. You will need to format the partition NTFS from the installation disk and install windows. You will lose Ubuntu this way.
