Brother HL2270DW Reports Paper Jam or No Paper

Printer shows Orange error LED. Supposed to mean out of paper or paper jam. Trouble is, there is lots of paper, and there is no jam. Printer works fine in manual feed. Will not feed from paper tray. Rollers have been cleaned. Any ideas how to get the LED to turn off and enable printing from paper tray?

Drum and toner are brand-new .

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I had this printer for many years and never had a problem with it, printing large files. I had to move things around, and when restarting recently it just did not want to work at all, never got a sheet through. Bought another newer unit on EBAY, and it does the same. I believe the newer drivers or program does not allow enough time for the paper to load. I would like an original driver. Maybe I have the the floppy I started with. In all my years I just loaded the tray and forgot about IT! The new driver is not even Brother.......OH BROTHER!! TOM

Please check the back panel of your printer, may be there is any some piece of paper available inside the printer, that’s why you are getting this error.

As @theprinterman alludes to above, the real problem is something called the “drive gear engagement arm” - and if you’re feeling even *slightly* handy, you can fix this - with nothing more than a spudger (or a butter knife).
