Lines appearing on bottom of screen

Sometimes my Samsung Galaxy Tab A screen briefly ‘jerks’ and then some lines appear on the bottom of the screen. These lines contain exactly the same colours as the pixels directly above at the top of the screen.

There appears to be no way of predicting when this happens, and it recovers after turning the screen of then on again.

I can’t seem to workout whether this is a software or hardware issue. Any ideas what might be causing this?

@jamesa60 looks like an issue with the controller board which is part of the screen. Something in the way of horizontal hold missing. At this point the only way to fix it will most likely be a new display assembly. For now I suggest to leave it alone and learn to live with it unless it becomes more drastic. Thank you. The screen has been doing this for well over a year now and hasn't been getting any worse, so I'll just continue to live with it. At least I now know what the likely cause is.
