Apple Watch series 3 Battery Replacement Overheating

Recently replaced the battery on my Apple Watch Series 3. Connections are intact, but my watch is failing to respond to any attempt to turn it on.

When left on the charger, the watch becomes unusually hot and still fails to respond to attempts to power on the watch.

Battery is connected, force touch sensor is in place and connected. Optical cables are intact and good condition. Screen does have a split towards the edge, but this didn’t prevent the display from function before the battery replacement.

Any thoughts as to what potentially may be wrong?

Try testing your battery for voltage. Anything below 2.6 will be a bad cell.

Clearly you have a circuit issue as once the battery is charged the charger should stop charging the battery.

Given the display damage its possible thats the issue as it doesn’t take much to create a short. You could have a deeper issue within the SIP module which is not repairable as thats where the circuit is which controls the charging.
