What is causing the out of focus with my Sony a330?

The Sony a330 fell from the distance of a normal table to a dirt/ground ... No visual damage was noticed... all camera functions were normal but when retrieved, the pictures were slightly blurred... I have 2 of this particular camera. Using the same lens, I took a picture with the good camera... result, normal... Taking the same picture with the same lens but with the fallen camera, result, blurred... I have picture examples , but doesn't seem to have a location to place them...

it may be that the fall has loosened the ccd (the part that captures your image) so that any image isn't focusing on that screen. Unfortunately there are no guides for your camera on here...yet. you could try browsing through the camera section and find something that closely resembles your camera to use as a guide. Or you could take it apart, take photo's and publish it as a guide for others..just click on the start a new guide link on the top right of this page.

+ makes perfect sense to me. Here is the Level 2 and level 3 service manual for your camera. It should help you getting it fixed.

Knew I could rely on you for a random guide! Cheers ;-), best I could find was a Frau on YouTube changing LCD...she's quick!

Thank You Old Turkey... Now the big question... by removing and replacing the ccd ... is that going to be one of those Brain surgery deals.. or a country boy type fix??? In my former life.. I was a copier tech... so I'm not a total redneck... but I didn't want to make maters worse... ( not knowing exactly what I'm doing)... Can this be re-seated in a frame ? or is it one of those , needing a laser alignment deal??

Thanks,

Dan

Without knowing the insides of your camera..sorry I didn't download the manual.. The drop may have moved that part anything .01mm...which changes focus length. Most ccd are in a frame on a backplate you can adjust those screws securing it to see if it helps, before finding replacement parts.
