desktop keeps restarting and can’t boot

My lenovo desktop keeps restarting and can’t boot. Once it tries to load windows it restarts and the cycle continue. but was working perfectly until i installed avast anti virus and did a thorough scan. Tried to boot from a bootable cd but still keeps restarting.

Hi,

What is the model number of the desktop?

Were any problems found by Avast and deleted by Avast?

Can you start the desktop in safe mode?

have you tried a "Startup Repair' as described in the link above?

What have you tried besides booting with a cd?

Options

Sounds like Avast might've messed with system files during the scan. Try booting into Safe Mode (keep pressing F8 or Shift+F8 on startup) and uninstall Avast. If that doesn’t work, use a Windows recovery USB to do a system restore to before the scan.
