Screen surface not flat

I purchased a replacement screen from iFixit. It had lines on the display that the original cracked screen doesn’t have. iFixit replaced that screen. The new screen doesn’t have any display problem, but I can’t get any tempered glass screen protectors on it. The edge has an air gap all the way around leaving me with this halo effect. I’ve tried two different brands of screen protector with excellent feedback. Do others have the same problems with iFixit screens?

Edit: picture added. If I leave this phone alone for an hour or so the gap increases to the middle of the screen almost.

Could you take a picture of it? I assume the halo effect as in the air gaps on the edges of the tempered glass which I do see a lot on certain phone screens.

Picture added. I have five iPhone’s in my household, all 6/6S/6S plus models. Have always had tempered glass screen protectors and have never seen this before. Hilariously, a little googling shows people filling this gap with various types of cooking oil.

Could just be a bad batch of replacement screens at iFixit. Contact iFixit support to see what they can do.
