Why is the turning on sound and pairing sound not work?

When I turn on the headset it has the sound of it turning on but when I turn it off it is silent. When I go and hold down the pairing button it doesn’t make the sound of pairing and it does not show the option to pair with the device and I have not been able to use Bluetooth since please help!!!
