Yo dude
Probably the flat cable that connects the motherboard and the monitor is damged. When that happens the backlight screen turns off. The screen shows the apps but the brightness doesn’t work.

What "light' is not turned on?
If you mean that the screen has no display how do you know that the apps are there?
