How to repair a blank display screen?

The LCD display screen on my GoPro Hero 4 Session camera is blank and doesn’t light up or show any information/settings. This wasn’t a result of being dropped or some other trauma to the camera, it sat in my drawer for about a year and recently when I charged it and turned it on the display isn’t showing anything. The camera still functions and seems to be working Properly.

How can I repair this issue or replace the faulty parts to get my display working again

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hi,

You may be able to replace the part but you will destroy the waterproof integrity of the camera in the process.

Here’s a link to the ifixit GoPro Hero4 Session Teardown guide.

Whilst it is not a repair guide it shows how access to the camera’s internal components can be achieved and what tools are required.

At Step.13 in the guide the module with the LCD screen has been removed from the camera.

Here’s a link to a supplier of the part.

It is shown only to let you know the cost of the part and what it looks like.

There may be other suppliers online that suit you better. Just search on places such a Ebay etc for GoPro Hero 4 Session parts
