Confirming if it is Mid 2009

I have a MacBook Pro 15” that I’m guessing is Mid 2009 (copyright is 2009). All documentation long gone and screen doesn’t work which I intend to replace. How can I confirm it is mid 2009? The information on the box includes Model No A1286 and the following: MBP 15.4/2.53/2x2GB/250/SD.

These machines are just too nice to let go.

@rdt “Find the serial number printed on the underside of your Mac, near the regulatory markings. It’s also on the original packaging, next to a barcode label. You can then enter that serial number on the Check Coverage page to find your model.

The original packaging might also show an Apple part number, such as MLH12xx/A (“xx” is a variable that differs by country or region). You can match the Apple part number to one in the list below to find your model.”

from here

Once you have found the serial number you can use this excellent site to find all the information about your MBP
