Phone stuck on a reboot loop (resetting won't sort it)

Hi,

My 7 plus was working fine until the already very cracked screen stopped responding (though the phone was still alive and receiving texts etc)… the body had been damaged sometime ago so when I had the screen replaced a while ago they struggled to make it fit, which ultimately made it crack quicker.

So I decided I’d replace the screen and rebody it. Everything went fine apart from i broke part of the ribbon cable in the charger assembly, i think its a speaker part that broke off.

Ive attached a link to the park that would need replacing, specifically it’s the gold rectangle to the right of the charging port. There is also one mirrored on the left had side which remains fine.

The phone now turns on but the apple logo doesn’t leave, after about 3 mins the screen goes blank and then the process rapidly happens again.

Ive tried holding down the power and volume down button. But it hasn’t fixed it. My computer doesnt pick up the phone either.

Is this just a case of replacing the obviously damaged part, in my head I assumed that it wouldnt affect the phone to the extent it has?

A damaged charger dock assembly may cause reboots. Its replacement would be the first troubleshooting step. You can try turning on the iPhone with part disconnected for confirmation, if the battery is charged it should start up normally with power button.

So it was actually disconnecting the front camera that made it turn on.. The charging port and home button don't work though, are they both part of the charge dock assembly part that I broke?

@chpas568 Home button has its own connector, the smaller one of the display assembly.

I wonder why its not working then, do you think the charing issue is to do with the broken part in that area?
