No power, no LED etc ( after new battery replacement )

My trackpad fails to power up after repacking the batteries. Everything was fine previously ( unless grandkids have dropped it lol) No LED showing but the power button is free and easy, not stuck at all. Having stripped it down as per the teardown sheet and being technically illiterate as far as circuit testing etc, what continuity tests should I check

I highly recommend trying to use your thumb to push and turn the power button clockwise quite forcefully. I had a very similar issue and found this suggestion on a youtube comment on a foreign language youtube video. I did this multiple (10-20 times) and never noticed a difference in how the alignment of the power button looked but eventually, my trackpad powered back up. Best of luck!
