Windshield Outer Molding Seperation

We have a 2006 Hummer H3 that the windshield molding has seperated from the top rail molding. How to move the top rail molding forward about 1/8” so the front screw will fit back in the molding. That area has broken, it looks like the molding on both sides has moved back about 1/8” and can’t reconnect the windshield molding back to it.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi,

Don’t know the answer but according to the 2006-09 Hummer H3 – Fixed and Moveable Windows section of the repair manual for your vehicle:

“The windshield reveal molding is an applied molding design separate from the window. The reveal molding is bonded to the windshield and may be bonded to the body. The reveal molding may be replaced with the windshield as an assembly or the reveal molding may be available as a separate service part”. (see p.57-58/139 of the pdf file)

I couldn’t find the replacement part or part number (if it is part #5 in the parts diagram of this link), so perhaps you could try using this instead as a replacement for the molding

To make it easier to use the manual, when it has opened in the link, scroll to the bottom of the Document and click on the Download pdf icon (next to the Zoom 100%) to download it to a computer for better viewing.

Hopefully this may be of some help.
