Back glass removal, stabbed battery

So I wanted to see if anyone has had the experience of accidentally stabbing the internal battery while it was still plugged into the main board. I was removing the back glass (I would like to add that i was successful) It didn’t explode but i got a poof of smoke when it happened. What are the chances that it fried the main board? I am waiting on a battery to arrive at my house today to check it, but I wanted to see what you guys had to say.

what do you think about the wireless charging coil, I stabbed through it (small puncture at the top section). Should I remove it, or do you think it will still work?

Mine exploded. iPhone 14 pro max in flames!

Hi Chase,

Been there, done that. The battery has a protection circuit integrated into the bottom to prevent logic board damage when any type of battery damage occurs. Your replacement battery should work just fine, as long as it isn’t defective.

As long as you didn't cut any wires inside the coil assembly, it should still work.
